Welcome to my family history pages.

My main lines of research are Robinson (paternal) and Froggatt (maternal), although I also have a lot on other ancestral lines, such as Harris, Morris, Edwards, George, Breakwell, Farmer, Faulkner, Bray, Corbett, Norgrove and many others, mostly in and around Shropshire, Radnorshire and Herefordshire.

Although I have been researching my family history since 1978, I only started building this web site in September 2014, so it is very much “work-in-progess” at the moment. Nevertheless I hope you may find something of interest, and please leave a comment or contact me if you find a connection or can add anything to the history.

There are two sections to the web site, that I call the “Main Site” and the “TNG Site”, with links between them. Within the TNG Site (that you are in now), I have a large, although incomplete family tree loaded, but by the nature of genealogical software content, this is a bit of an encyclopaedic treatise of birth, marriage, census and death dates and places, and therefore a bit “dry” to my mind. You can view the details of this tree by clicking on the "Father's side" or "Mother's side" buttons above, or searching for names top right, or jump to my Main Site by clicking “Main Site Home”. There's nothing much to be seen via the buttons below - yet! This family tree is a GEDCOM upload from the tree which I maintain on Ancestry.com at http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/tree/61031069/family, which is extensive but incomplete as I have maintained my research mostly in Word files and am still in the process of transferring some of this information to Ancestry.

The Main Site tries to bring the history much more to life with stories of how my ancestors lived their lives, which to my mind is much more interesting than the raw genealogical data. So far there are only a few stories and a few wills and obituaries on the site, but I hope to add much more over the months and years to come. If you feel you can contribute, please get in touch!

The photo on this page was taken at my parents' wedding in East Grinstead, Sussex, in 1953. My mother, Elizabeth Gillian Froggatt, known as “Betty”, died the following year when I was five days old. My father, Herbert Colin Robinson, known as "Bert", died in 2013, aged 88. I was adopted as a baby by my father's cousin, George John Robinson and his wife, Evelyn Betty Allen (also known as "Betty"), likewise both no longer with us in body. This site is dedicated to both sets of my parents - may you and all who have gone before you, Rest in Peace!
